Stamp Card Designer for iPhone

Before you get started

At the moment, the administration page for designing your cards is currently optimized for use on a computer or laptop. Mac, Chromebook, or Windows does not matter, but we do not recommend designing your card on a smartphone or tablet as the layout of the design tool is not optimized for this.

However, it is completely fine to log in on a mobile device to check your settings and dashboard or use the section "Reachouts".

Login to your administration page

If you do not already know how to sign in, it's a very simple process. Described in short below:

  1. Visit wallicards.com and click the sign-in button in the top right corner
  2. Enter your e-mail address and check your inbox to receive your one time log in link in an e-mail
  3. Click the "Log In to WalliCards" button or use the URL
  4. You'll be automatically logged in to your account
  5. If prompted, confirm that you want to log in

Once logged in, click on the last button named Cards, and you will see something like this:

Setting up stamp cards for iPhone

If you have already designed cards and tried the service and dashboard out, now is the time to pick which card you want to design. Why would you have different cards? The customer cards and stamp cards differ in their design layout, where customer cards are more suitable for cancellations and push notifications, and stamp cards are your typical rewards program, shortly explained.

Designing stamp cards for iPhone users

Designing a stamp card is a very straightforward process. Let’s dive right into it.
Click on Cards in the sidebar menu, and pick a stamp card you wish to change or design or create a new card. Click on the cards you want to change to see the base layout pictured below.

How to create a new stamp card

Click the Add Card button and a pop-up will be displayed where you can name the template and pick how many stamps you would like to have (between five and ten) for your offerings. Note that you cannot change the amount of stamps, for this specific card, after the card template has been created. You can, however, create a new card with another set number of stamps, but this would also have to be designed and changed to suit your needs. The design process is quick and easy, and we will dive into it below.

How to navigate in the designer window

You have now entered the design interface, which consists of three main tabs: Theme and Settings, Front of Card, and Back of Card.

In this tutorial, we will only focus on the Apple Wallet design tool.

Theme and settings for Apple Wallet Stamp Cards

This section will allow you to customize the stamp card according to your branding, logos, and colors, change messaging (notifications), which design for the stamps and tick boxes you would like to use. This is what a brand-new card will look like: On the left-hand side, there is a preview window where you will see your changes in real-time. Don't be afraid to play around with the options as you go along.

Changing the colors of your stamp cards

If you have specific colors for your brand or an idea in mind, you can change the basic color themes and text colors in this section. Enter your hex color code, or click on the square next to the code to use a color picker. To demonstrate this, we will change the Background Color and Label Color, and you will see the following changes: You can try to use the same hex code simply by copying the codes from here into the hex field, and you should see the same results.

Background Color: #106a67

Label Color: #fff56b

Text Color: #e6e6e6

Changing colors on Stamp Cards

A good tip is to keep your own color codes in a note or document if you don't have branded color codes already, and this is especially useful when designing multiple cards and when making changes for both Apple Wallet and Google Wallet cards.

Main image and stamp settings

If you would like to have a background image behind your stamps, this can easily be added by uploading your preferred image from your computer. You must use an image with a resolution of 1125px by 432px or higher.

A tip is to be mindful of what colors are image or use an image where the opacity has been lowered so that the circles or boxes for the stamps are more legible, and the same for the check marks. Note that you don't have to add an image and that the field behind the stamps will change color according to your main background color.

Pick your stamp design

You can further customize the cards by picking round or square stamp boxes and the color of the tick mark from the two drop-down menus. There are over 40 options available for the check mark, as an example.

Notification Icon

This image will only be shown on notifications about your digital pass on the lock screen. Transparent backgrounds will not show transparency on the lock screen. Use square images with at least 150px by 150px resolution.

This image will be displayed on the top left front of the card. Preferably use a PNG-format with a transparent background for the best result. Either use square images with at least 150px by 150px resolution. If a rectangular image is used, use a resolution of 480px by 150px.

Remember to save all your changes by clicking Save Changes at the top of the designer window.

Example of what a stamp card can look like

Front of Card for iPhone stamp cards

Once you are happy with your design choices, you can move on to the Front of Card tab, and we will explain all the changes you can make in this section.

Logo Text

By default, this field is empty, and you can add your company's name or something like Example Company Stamp Card. Just note that it is best to keep this text short. Otherwise, the text risk getting hidden or truncated on iPhones with smaller screens.

Adding Fields

What is a "field"?

In our card design tool, a "field" is a designated area where you display specific information on the card. Each field consists of four key components:

Field Label: An optional text that appears above the field content. While not mandatory, labels can help clarify the purpose of the information displayed.

Field Type: A crucial setting that defines the field's relationship with the Customer Form. The type determines how the field will be populated or used.

Field Content: The primary space for storing information. Content can serve three main purposes:

  • Store static information
  • Capture customer details
  • Act as a dynamic space for updates, news, or notifications

Lock Screen Message: An optional notification that appears on the user's lock screen when certain actions occur. Here you can also user the placeholder %@ to show the updated info in the actual notification.

Practical Examples

Example 1: Customer Details Let's say you want to display the customer's name on the card. You would:

  • Choose "Customer Name" as the Field Type
  • Add this field to the Customer Form
  • The name entered in the form will automatically appear on the issued card

Example 2: Dynamic Updates If you want to use the card for sending offers or updates:

  • Set a default value in the Content field
  • Use the "Outreach" tool to replace this content with updated information
  • Set the Lock Screen Message if you want to notify the customer when this field is updated

Top Fields

Design alternatives for fields

Click on Top Field, and you will now see more options for customizing your card. This area is reserved for showing the number of stamps collected. This lets you choose the label that is displayed in the top right corner of your card, which should say Stamps by default. Here is also a field called Lock Screen Message. This will be sent to your customer's lock screen when they have received a new stamp. An example notification message would be: Awesome! You now have %@ stamps!

Having %@ in the message will display the number of stamps accumulated. If %@ is omitted the message will be static in the notifications. If the field is left completely blank, no notification will appear on your customer's screen, even if they did accumulate stamps.

Main Fields

Click on Main Fields to display all options for this. The main field section will show information below the stamp area and it is possible to have three fields in a row, each with different information. But a recommendation would be to use this area with a single field to show information about what reward or offer the customer will get once the stamp card is filled.

The offer you choose is of course, entirely up to you, and we will be adding blog posts on how to create offers specifically for your industry, to give you tips and tricks on how to best use the stamp cards.

Just like with the Top Field, you can also add a lock screen message here, but we recommend not to use this field for fields with static information such as the reward since it would be unwise to change the reward for already issued stamp cards.

To add more fields in the Main Fields section you can do so by clicking the Add Field button. This could be the customer name or e-mail address mentioned above, and the field will be added to the section beneath the stamps.

As with the previous section, remember to save your changes at the top of the page.

Back of Card for iPhone stamp cards

The last section allows you to add a description to the back of the card and add a custom field, just like on the front of the card. As we have already covered this, you can read more about the custom fields in the section above. The back of the card also allows your customers to choose to receive automatic updates or allowing notifications by toggling these options on or off.

As always, save your changes, if any, are made in this section.

Summary

This is how easy it is to create your own branded WalliCards stamp card, and now that you have learned how to design your cards for iPhone users, we recommend jumping straight into setting the design for Android users. You can use the same hex codes (remember to save these in a note or document), logos and custom fields, and it is just as quick and easy.
